At Brave Trails, we’ve always believed in the power of youth voices to drive change and create magic. That’s why we’re beyond excited to introduce our first-ever Camper Board—a group of incredible young leaders who are stepping up to help shape the future of Brave Trails programming!
The Camper Board is a new initiative designed to amplify camper perspectives and ensure that Brave Trails remains a space where LGBTQ+ youth can truly thrive. Over the next year, these dedicated campers will work closely with our leadership team, offering feedback, ideas, and insights on all aspects of camp programming, from activities and workshops to leadership development opportunities and community-building efforts.
Each member of the Camper Board has shown extraordinary commitment to Brave Trails over their years as campers, growing into inspiring leaders and changemakers. This program is not just about elevating their voices—it’s about creating a collaborative space where their lived experiences can help us make camp even more impactful for future generations.
What the Camper Board Will Do:
Provide valuable input on existing programs and help develop new initiatives.
Collaborate with staff to ensure camp activities meet the needs and interests of campers.
Offer unique perspectives on leadership development and community-building.
Act as ambassadors for the Brave Trails mission, both at camp and beyond.
We believe this Camper Board represents the heart of Brave Trails: connection, leadership, and empowerment. By giving campers a seat at the table, we’re not only ensuring our programming continues to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ youth but also equipping these young leaders with the skills to create change far beyond the campfire!
