MEET THE CLINICIANS

  • Dan Romeo-White M.A. enters the therapeutic relationship with a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens, which prioritizes clients’ agency and identity. They work with individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life, and specialize in queer, trans, and gender expansive experiences.

  • When you first start therapy, delving into your concerns can often feel like a complex puzzle, exploring the many pieces and aspects that make up your experiences. As a therapist, I am here to be your collaborator, creating a warm and grounded environment where we can safely explore these pieces.

I am deeply committed to social justice and believe that mental health does not exist in a vacuum. We are influenced by the society and world around us. My therapy approach is rooted in this understanding, acknowledging the systemic factors that impact our well-being.

I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is essential to the therapeutic process. My style is relational, focusing on building a strong therapeutic alliance and being deeply present with you as we work towards your goals.

As a queer therapist, I provide therapy affirming of all genders and sexualities. I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and affirming space.

Currently, I provide queer psychotherapy to LGBTQIA+ youth through Brave Trails. Additionally, I offer my services at a street medicine organization, providing psychotherapy to people experiencing homelessness on the streets of Los Angeles. My areas of expertise include complex PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Substance Use, Personality Disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, gender diversity, neurodiversity, OCD, relationship issues, and life transitions.

  • I am grounded, warm, playful, and authentic. Therapy is a place for exploration, for uncovering, learning, making connections, accountability, and for growth. Every person's journey in therapy looks different; I help people find the strength, tools and clarity to make lasting changes. I help people see and honor their wholeness and find ways to utilize their uniqueness to grow through life's challenges. I utilize expressive arts, somatic techniques, and adventure-based therapies when appropriate. My specialties are complex trauma, grief and loss, chronic pain, traumatic brain injuries, substance use, neurodivergence, gender/sexuality exploration, and identity work. I have over 10 years of experience with youth but enjoy working with people of all ages.

  • As a therapist, I aim to help clients feel witnessed, validated, and dignified, in the face of this culture that oppresses and dismisses so many of us, so that they might move towards feeling their agency. I take a non-pathologizing, anti-oppressive, creative, and collaborative approach to therapy, grounded in narrative and somatic therapy training. My conversations with clients often center on queerness, gender, sexuality, chronic pain, the pressure and pains of norms and shoulds, the challenges of living in the harmful systems we navigate, and experiences of having a body. As someone who navigates chronic pain, I understand how bodies both in and out of pain can act like records of the emotional pain, stress, or trauma we’ve experienced. I support clients to move toward finding more safety and presence in their bodies, while inviting the stories their bodies hold to be told. Alongside stories of pain or struggle, we story moments of resistance, when the sparks of pleasure, empowerment, and liberation are felt.

  • Queer and trans joy means so much to me. As a queer and trans therapist, I focus on fostering a therapy experience that is affirming and unique to you. Therapy can sometimes feel like it isn't a space for queer, trans, neurodivergent, and disabled folks. I hope to challenge that idea. My therapy approach also centers on utilizing humor, understanding, and joy during our work together. All of my clinical experience thus far has been with queer and trans folks as well as working with their parents and families. Additionally, my lived experience as a trans man who transitioned during childhood greatly informs the work that I do with LGBTQ+ youth. My specialties include supporting folks while questioning their identities, support through gender-affirming medical care, familial or parental conflict, and navigating relationship dynamics (platonic, monogamous, poly/non-monogamous, etc.). Outside of therapy, I enjoy dancing, jamming to music, and spending time with my dogs!
