WORKSHOP INFORMATION

The presenter must be over the age of 21 (or graduate from the UJL program)
Understand this is a 100% volunteer commitment and you will not be compensated.
Must be able to transport yourself to and from camp.
The curriculum must be appropriate for ages 12-17. Content should be youth-appropriate, engaging, and interactive. No lecture-style presentations, please.
All presenters must be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a medical exemption note can be provided by your physician.
Agree and abide by all Camp Brave Trails policies and the Workshop Presenter Contracts.

Workshops are 90-minute long, engaging presentations that are designed to impart wisdom, knowledge, or leadership skills to our LGBTQ+ campers. You will have an audience of about 10-20 LGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 12-17 and a few staff members for supervision support.
We ask that you design your workshop to be interactive and hands-on. This is camp, not school. Skip the lecture-style presentation and opt for more activities, discussions, and opportunities for the campers to learn and express themselves.. Workshops should also be within our mission of leadership skill development, community building, activism, or self-awareness. Workshops should be relevant to LGBTQ+ youth lives and needs.

If your proposal is selected, you will receive the date and time for your presentation and the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of our incredible LGBTQ+ teens!
We will ask you to be at camp about an hour early so you can orient yourself to the space and set up any tech or supplies you may have. We have limited access to wifi at camp, but it can be available upon request. Campers DO NOT have access to their phones or electronics at camp.
You will have an audience of about 10-20 LGBTQ+ teens and some staff members for supervision support. You will present your work shot in one of our indoor or outdoor classrooms.
Keep in mind that the camp is a rustic, mountain, high elevation environment.
We will NOT be able to house you at camp for any amount of time.

Our California camp is located in Southern California and our New York camp is located in Southeastern New York State. Our exact address will be given if your proposal is accepted as we keep our location private for saftey.
